“Big Joel” MacDonald, owner of Notorious Tattoo Company with his wife Heidi, was a hard-working, award-winning artist with almost seventeen years of tattooing experience. Always interested in the arts, he learned in a street shop through a traditional & formal tattoo apprenticeship, not near from his hometown on Long Island, NY. During that time, he tattooed any of the flash off the walls & whatever else clients wanted. He worked at five shops before opening their own shop in July 2017, but learned the most working at Tattoo Lou’s, for and with Lou Rubino, Jr., where he was exposed to the larger tattoo community & family. He was a part of the World Famous Pro Team, has his own line of World Famous Ink called “Blood Works”, was sponsored by World Famous Ink, Fukitt Clothing Company, Hustle Butter Tattoo Aftercare, Helios Tattoo, among many others. Even though Joel quickly soared in his career by putting everything into his craft of tattooing and art work, he continues to remain humble and open to ideas, enjoys growing and is immersed in learning different techniques for tattooing.
